Job Description

The IT Systems Senior Manager is responsible for the overall delivery and management of software development activities for Retail Pharmacy systems releases, which are comprised of 1-15+discrete software projects developed by our off-shore delivery partner. Strong Leadership and Governance is key as the RxConnect Application Development team is comprised of approximately 130 resources and has a large offshore component. The current list of systems includes approximately 15 applications including,but not limited, to the Tier 1 systems for Retail Pharmacy. The Sr. Manager will partner and build trusted relationships with the PMO, Business Analysis, Architecture, Technology, Functional Test, Performance Test, and Release Management teams to make certain all needs are met for RxConnect and Pharmacy systems delivery. The team works in a strong matrix organization with these teams to ensure on-time project delivery and up time of Production, Performance testing, and all non-production environments. The Sr. Manager will drive all aspects for projects delivered via Waterfall, Agile, and/or XP methodologies as required.

Additional responsibilities would include:

Experience developing a team culture to show high regard for adherence to quality standards and operating at maximum efficiency

Leads with a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues in order to deliver a quality project on time and within budget

Experience facilitating status, performance, and career objective discussions, which includes conducting regular staff meetings

Experience delivering comprehensive communications to management regarding the status and activities of a team both in written and presentation form

Experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects within a software release, while managing multiple concurrent releases and setting priorities to meet deadlines

Experience managing multiple IT projects on varying technology stacks

Experience analyzing team and project performance to implement corrective actions when necessary

Proven experience leading software Designers and Developers in understanding business requirements and translating into software solutions

Experience in Retail Pharmacy systems or similar healthcare industry

Experience with the responsibility for resource allocation and coordinating staffing of large teams (50+ resources)

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of professional IT experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in managing an offshore partner

Minimum of 5 years experience managing design, development, and implementation of large-scale, multi-tier, high-volume applications

Minimum of 3 years managing organizational development and people management, including hiring/firing, performance management, training/development, career, and succession planning

Minimum of 1 year successfully managing delivery of IT projects in an Agile development methodology

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of IT experience

Familiarity with Active/Active application configuration (including Oracle product suite)

Knowledge and understanding of the CVS Health software development lifecycle (SEP)

Experience delivering IT projects using Extreme programming methodology

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Technical field or comparable work experience required.

Master’s in Computer Science related program preferred
