Job Description

CVS is seeking a new Director to join a new team that has been tasked with developing an industry-leading assortment optimization process. This role will be instrumental in design and structure of the process in order to drive meaningful financial impact for the company. This process will leverage best-in-class transferable demand tools as part of category strategies covering shopper insights, assortment, price, promotion and vendor negotiation plans.

The Director Merchandising is the center of a cross-functional team of Category Managers and Merchandising Strategy developing strategy, design and approach. This position will influence & lead the Merchandising team through implementation and continued improvements.

The position is expected to provide excellent exposure to management across CVS’s business as well as ongoing professional development. This role would suit someone with a strong interest in retail and a passion for merchandise planning.

You will also need to be a self-motivated, entrepreneurial, high-energy individual who can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment. You should also be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel.

To be successful you will demonstrate cross functional engagement, best demonstrated by your ability to gain credibility with cross-functional partners and senior management.

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years in an analytical, buying and/or merchandising role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Assortment optimization and/or and category review experience a plus

  • Self-motivated, high energy individual who can function in a high demand environment managing tight deadlines.

  • Ability to recognize problems, develop an organized approach to determining solutions.

  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization from cross-functional teams to senior leadership.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing via Microsoft PowerPoint to all levels of the organization.

  • High proficiency in Excel
