The Consumer Banking Corrections team manages the process to triage, fix, correct, and eliminate customer impact caused by a business process or operational break. Within this function, the data analytics team identifies and corrects impacted accounts via recalculating and crediting interest charges and/or fees.
Working with the Consumer Banking Corrections team, the Correction Analyst will analyze the problem, identify the impacted population, determine the financial impact, and create execution files to correct the accounts. Typical activities include (but are not be limited to), identifying impacted populations based on defined criteria, calculating often complex financial impact, recalculating interest charges over a period of months or years, recalculating total balances based on exclusion of specific charges, and determining if fees applied would not have otherwise been billed.
These breaks can present complex, multilayered, and data intensive business problems. Typically these problems will be of an unstructured nature, whereby the CA will be expected to quickly assess and comprehend the situation, and develop a practical approach/strategy to the analysis.
This role requires interaction with business stakeholders and cross-functional groups. The candidate must possess strong problem solving and reasoning skills.
Must be detailed and quality assurance oriented
Must possess strong process adherence discipline
Throughout the life cycle of a project, specific process control procedures and documentation must be followed and completed by the CA.
Be able to work multiple problems simultaneously; typically a CA will be assigned three to five problems at once
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
Expertise and practical experience in SQL
Proficiency with standard MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
Expertise and practical experience in SAS (Unix SAS is preferred)
Proficient in Tera Data database environments. Oracle environments a plus.
In-depth understanding of writing and maintaining UNIX Scripts.
Elevated proficiency in MS Excel
