Merck IPI Business Process Lead in West Point, Pennsylvania

The IPI Business Process Lead will work with the IPI team to develop and implement lean business processes to support the deployment of IPI required for Merck’s Change Control initiative. Deployment of IPI will impact many of Merck’s business processes and Quality Management Systems including; Change Control, Specification Management, Materials Control and Batch Disposition, External Network processes (Suppliers and CMOs), Regulatory Processes, Packaging and Labelling etc. This individual will work in a matrixed environment working with many different stakeholders from different functional areas.

The IPI Business Process Lead will:

  • Work with the various stakeholders and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to understand “current state” in detail. Working with the IPI team, stakeholders and SMEs, the IPI Business Process lead will develop “future state” processes. Applying MPS and LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies, activities will include VOCs (Voice of the Customer), process mapping, brainstorming, developing new procedures and training materials, identification of KPIs etc. The intent will be to leverage IPI technology and lean out and simplify the business processes with continuous focus on end users.

  • Develop project plans and liaise closely with the overall project planner, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. Negotiate with project stakeholders to identify resources, mitigate risks, resolve issues and provide regular updates and project status.

  • Create KPI dashboards enabling process performance monitoring. Collaborate with business customers to monitor process performance as improvements are implemented ensuring return on investment is realized. Identify, communicate, and correct gaps in process performance and provide guidance to address these gaps.
