Content Strategist, Senior

Key Role:

Develop a data-driven content strategy for the firm to drive corporate and account-based business and marketing goals to engage audiences to meet them across buyers’ journeys and drive them through the demand funnel. Develop corporate awareness, an account-based marketing and procurement campaign, and tactical content strategies. Collaborate with marketers, a demand generation specialist, channel strategists, and a team of in-house writers, vendors, and freelancers to generate long-form and mid-length editorial content, short-form content, multimedia, and varied marketing content appropriately created for different online and offline channels. Serve in a true digital-first mindset, blending technical strategic thinking with a creative perspective and the ability to apply data to outline and implement a content strategy and unify content standards to meet business objectives. Work with Corporate Affairs' functional leaders and firm stakeholders to develop an agile and responsive content calendar that prioritizes campaign cycles, compelling content for a wide variety of communications for internal and external audiences, and a consistent brand voice to tell Booz Allen’s stories with business impact. Distill complex content requirements, understand target audiences, and quickly shift between topics to oversee content strategy deliverables with measurable results across campaign and project life cycles. Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform strategy and requests, identify gaps and course-corrections, and apply channel requirements to strategic marketing and internal communications plans.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with multichannel content creation and branded corporate content strategy.

-Experience with applying content strategy to different B2B/B2G audiences and personas across life cycles to increase awareness and generate and nurture leads

-Experience in developing a range of omnichannel, branded content for marketing campaigns and corporate communications across different topic areas with a digital-first approach

-Experience with developing content in various formats, including website copy, whitepapers, downloadable content, blog posts, advertising, video, marketing and sales collateral, and e-mails for external and internal audiences

-Experience with developing, testing, editing, and improving content and educating others on learning to inform consistent messaging and effective storytelling

-Experience with applying content performance data and client insights and conducting market research, competitor analyses, content audits, gap analysis, ROT analysis, content inventories, and user testing to develop strategies, approaches, and course corrections for content creation.

-Experience with content distribution models and amplification tactics, message matrices, asset management, taxonomies, digital content strategies, demand generation, e-mail campaign marketing, and SEO/SEM

-Ability to work with cross-functional teams to create an agile editorial calendar and meet tight deadlines

-Ability to help enterprise stakeholders maintain consistency with content standards and brand voice

-BA degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with creating content about technology, Cybersecurity, data and analytics, and engineering and science

-Experience with using project management to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate, ongoing campaigns, and a team of content creators, editors, and strategists

-Experience with marketing technology and analytics, including web analytics, enterprise content management systems, social media marketing applications, creative and asset management, and online monitoring or listening platforms

-Experience with how to tell a story using words, images, or audio and how to create content that draws an audience

-Ability to take integrated campaigns from concept to execution

-MA or MS degree or certifications in marketing, communications, writing, or analytics
