Vehicle Survivability Engineer

Key Role:

Serve as the structures and survivability force protection engineer for a ground combat vehicle acquisition program and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the structure, including underbody force protection, kinetic energy, chemical energy, and overhead artillery armors, external fuel tank survivability, commander's weapon shield, and other structures. Interact with all stakeholders on engineering aspects with respect to design changes, problem resolution, performance specification compliance, schedule management, production status and issues, and test requirements and updates. Contribute to the development of Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), performance specification requirements, and program milestone documentation. Participate in live fire and developmental test activities, including performance specification verification, failure analysis and corrective action, and implementation of test fixes.

Basic Qualifications:

-4 years of experience with survivability or force protection designs and analysis of military combat vehicles

-2 years of experience with creating requirements, test plans, or milestone documents for a DoD vehicle acquisition program

-Knowledge of ballistics, blast, and testing procedures for armor and vehicle hull and structures

-Secret clearance required

-BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC)

-BS degree in ME or a related engineering field preferred; MS degree in ME or a related engineering field a plus
