As a risk transformation professional, you will be addressing client issues such as business performance variability, business and process controls transformation; application security integrity, governance, risk and control (GRC) technology enablement, business and/or IT GRC, continuous monitoring, vendor and contract risk management and IT risk management. We currently are seeking highly motivated Senior Consultants for EY’s Health Risk Transformation practice to lead client engagement teams, work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and assist with business development activities on strategic utility accounts.
The Healthcare industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation affecting the underlying business model of both Payers and Providers driven by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The exponential rate of change has created new challenges while simultaneously allowing leading organizations to capture opportunities to expand the definition of what constitutes a “Healthcare Organization”. Within the current environment of significant economic pressure, increased regulatory scrutiny, evolving operating models, disruptive technology and heightened expectations by consumers and patients, Healthcare organizations need to continue to excel at the fundamentals while simultaneously driving transformational change across the breadth of the healthcare value chain.. But to achieve competitive advantage, leading healthcare organizations will be required to strive for more. It will require a fundamental shift that demands turning risk into results - a focus that moves beyond compliance and toward initiatives that are risk- informed, innovative and customer- focused to accelerate business performance.
The Risk Transformation practice focuses on helping Healthcare organizations better understand and manage the uncertainties that can impact their strategies, business models, stakeholders, operations and ultimately business results. We help with the design and implementation of leading practice risk management programs, specific risk solutions and approaches to help drive organizational value and performance improvement. Our integrated risk services include: 1) Risk strategy, governance & execution, including ‘next generation’ performance focused Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), 2) Integrated risk management activities within business planning and management practices 3) Integrated operations across a range of risk and compliance functional areas, and 4) Risk adjusted performance management and advanced analytics embedded within business operations.
Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
Foster an innovative and inclusive team- oriented work environment. Play an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the firm
Foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high- quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
Assist with cultivating and managing business development opportunities. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients
Develop and maintain long- term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs
Demonstrate deep technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge
Possess in depth business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.
Demonstrate an understanding of the risk issues in the Healthcare sector
To qualify, candidates must have:
A bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field
Knowledge of principles of ERM, GRC concepts, and risk management or control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO, OCEG, etc.)
Experience with the assessment, design and implementation of risk management and/or compliance programs including risk governance, risk appetite and risk tolerance, risk assessment, risk mitigation strategies, integration of risk management and strategic/business planning processes, and integration of risk management functions
Experience in compliance, preferably with prior experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), payer or hospital provider operations, or as a consultant in a consulting firm
Experience with assessing, designing and implementing risk and controls for major EHR systems (EPIC and Cerner)
Experience in one of the following areas is strongly preferred: Compliance Function (Centralized or within Operating units), Medicare or Medicaid operations experience, Medicare or Medicaid enrollment processes, utilizationmanagement, compliance policy and procedure development, training, auditing and monitoring processes required to meet the seven elements of a Compliance Function Familiarity with the federally commissioned bodies that regulated health plans, such as HHS, CMS, OCR, OIG, HRSA and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Code of Federal Regulation, Medicare Managed Care Manuals and Compliance Auditing Techniques
Basic understanding of risk measurement and quantification techniques
CPA/CA, CIA, CISA, CMA, RICS APC, PMP or other relevant certification desired; non- certified hires are required to become certified within 1 year from the date of hire
Commodity risk management experience with a desire to adapt relevant principles and practices to other critical risks facing utilities
A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%
A valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel internationally
