Title: Senior Software API Developer - 43968

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software API Developer, for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG -Urbandale), you will join a team of passionate developers and testers to design, develop, test, and integrate applications of high complexity. We operate in a collaborative, open environment focused on using Agile development techniques to autonomously deliver solutions quickly and effectively. That means you will:

  • Develop and support high-quality API centric software solutions

  • Drive, influence, and support API quality standards

  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to junior team members

  • Establish a culture of software craftsmanship best practices, including Test Driving/Automation, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment

  • Engage in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and hackathons

  • Interface regularly with customers to ensure technical solutions are meeting needs

  • Collaborate with other teams to drive alignment on product requirements and resulting development execution plans

  • Collaborate with Architecture and Product Leads to drive product and technology roadmaps

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in Java, C#, or Scala application development

  • 3 or more years of experience in roles that required strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

  • 3 or more years of experience in roles that required strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • 3 or more years of demonstrated technical leadership skills

  • 2 or more years of experience with Agile and Extreme Programming (XP) software development practices

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with any of the following: Java, Spring, JavaScript, React/Redux, jQuery, Node.js, C#, Scala, CSS, HTML5

  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL DBMSs

  • Experience developing with RESTful web services

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services technologies, such as: Elastic Beanstalk, API Gateway, Lambda, Elastic-search, RDS, Dynamo, EC2, S3

  • Experience with any of the following Agile development processes: Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Test Automation, XP Practices

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science/Engineering related discipline
