In Canada, the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team is responsible forenhancing EY’s brand and reputation in the external market by creating a truly high-performing culture at the firm with teaming at its core and strengthening relationships with stakeholders. This team works closely with senior leaders of the firm to promote all the main functions of the organization, with a focus on industry sectors and service lines.
The BMC Specialist is a member of the nationalBMC teamwho oversees theimplementation of marketing and communications programs related to our Entrepreneurial marketing programs in British Columbia, including management of both the Ontario EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Awards program and the Entrepreneurial Winning Women (EWW) program.
Working closely with BMC colleagues across Canada (and beyond), this role will be expected to build strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders and acquire the subject matter expertise necessary to be a strategic advisor on the EY brand.
Strategy, planning and execution related to the marketing and engagement of programs in the Ontario marketplace including, entrepreneurial buyer groups, women entrepreneurs, family-owned business, venture capital, IPO and strategic transactions.
Evaluate and identify strategic Growth Markets-related sponsorships in the market. Negotiate benefits, secure speaking opportunities, finalize contracts and execute benefits. Execute national sponsorships with benefits in the local market.
Entrepreneur Of The Year Program responsibilities
Coordinate all EOY and EWW activities across Ontario, including the program launch, onsite interview process, finalists, winners, alumni activities as well as the EOY gala.
Specific duties include:
Initiate and execute each phase of the EOY and EWW programs
Internal and external communications driving engagement, event attendance and key information
Working with partners and staffacross service lines and sector to help develop target lists
Communicate nomination goals and strategy to the offices to motivate internal nominations
Work with regional and local officeleaders to assign onsite interviews and monitor progress
Work closely with the regions Program Director, organize and execute logistics related tothe judgingpanel
Plan and execute all aspects of the nominees’ and finalist receptions, and work with national EOY team to identify best practices
Guide finalists through the collection of materials for vignettes produced for the regional banquet
Plan and execute annual gala, work with the national events and EOY teams to identify best practices, including tracking and receiving RSVPs for all EOY-related events and ensuring attendance lists are kept up to date
Drive attendance to the gala to reach thegoalof 1,000+ Manage, secure and liaise with external relationships including vendors and sponsors, as well as speakers and panellists related to EOY
Manage the regional EOY program budget, and reconcile all related invoices
Work with team to track and manage accurate program conversions metrics
To qualify, candidates must have:
At least five years of relevant work experience in marketing and event planning
University degree in marketing, or related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred
Superior communication skills and the ability to develop materials that are clear, concise and impactful
Strong project management, relationship-building, organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment
A solid understanding of different aspects of marketing (public relations, internal communications, brand visibility, alumni relations, website and social media tools, etc.)
Ability to communicate confidently across all levels of the organization, and proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with senior-level stakeholders
Track record of creativity and innovation
A passion for entrepreneurship
Knowledge of and experience in the professional services industry or entrepreneurial market is an asset
