Job Description

  1. Leads and guides the billing staff in the performance of duties. Gives guidance and direction to Billing associates.

  2. Verifies that batches received from billing area are in balance on a daily basis.

  3. Researches and resolves any discrepancies.

  4. Assures that patients understand their financial obligation to pay for the medical services rendered.

  5. Obtain all necessary information and enter it into the billing system for timely and accurate billing and collection.

  6. Notifies patient and arranges for alternative payment methods when insurance coverage does not cover services/courses of treatment.

  7. Arranges budget plans in accordance with CPP criteria.

  8. Documents results of insurance verification, financial counseling, responses to information requests and other appropriate activities on IDX.

  9. Answers on-site patient inquiries regarding account or payment status.

  10. Handles escalated issues regarding third party requests for information/documentation.

  11. Performs related duties, as required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Prior experience with accounts receivable or related area, required. Keypunch/data entry experience, required. Experience with managed care, record keeping, bookkeeping, and typing, preferred.
