Job DescriptionThe Service Line Director develops and oversees clinical services supporting the goals and objectives for the Service Line. These include quality management, information technology, EMR implementation and regulatory requirements. You will develop clinical assessments of existing services to identify opportunities for improvement while coordinating new program developments for the expansion of services.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Collaborates with senior leaders to develop clinical goals and objectives for the Service Line.

  2. Provides oversight and organization of new program development and successful implementation.

  • Establishes implementation plans, methods of evaluation and follow-up.
  1. Collaborates with Health System leadership to develop clinical program strategy.
  • Develops and implements clinical action plans.

  • Identifies and supports physician development opportunities.

  1. Assists in the development of appropriate quality assurance programs and monitors quality for all operational functions.
  • Monitors and evaluates performance indicators, including: quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and resource utilization.
  1. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure clinical compliance with practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates programmatic changes to continuously remain compliant with regulatory agencies and facilitates necessary changes at System Sites, NYS Department of Health (i.e. ICAEL and ICANL certification).

  • Maintains awareness of regulatory guidelines and implications of future regulatory decisions.

  1. Ensures standardization of resources for multiple disciplines/functions of hospitals across the system.
  • Coordinates efforts to prioritize and implement program needs.

  • Standardizes data collection across hospitals and ambulatory sites.

  • Participates and supports system-wide programs - Including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Cardiac Surgery and Heart Failure.

  • Standardization of clinical practice /equipment across hospital and ambulatory sites cardiovascular service line.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant, required. Master's Degree, preferred.

  • Current appropriate license to practice Nursing in New York State.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of clinical and leadership experience in Cardiac Patient Care and related Information Management.

  • Experience in dealing with all aspects of clinical program development, implementation and monitoring.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
