PwC Corporate Accounting Senior Manager in Tampa, Florida

A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

Our Accounting team helps internal leaders with fixed assets accounting and asset management, financial reporting, accounting research and analysis, statutory and regulatory reporting, and data security. As part of the team, you’ll assist with monthly closings, financial analysis, oversight and management of controls and compliance, tax and cash projections and data security.

Demonstrates extensive understanding of SAP financial system.

Demonstrates intimate knowledge of, and/or success in managerial roles involving key business and strategic priorities leveraged to oversee and manage a team providing technical accounting guidance in the areas of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for a global network of professional services consulting firms, emphasizing the following areas:

  • Overseeing the Firm's’ monthly general ledger closing process, cash/tax ledger close, data maintenance, and reconciliations processes;

  • Managing staff who validate that the Firm's financial statement position is accurately stated;

  • Taking ownership of the firm's ledgers with respect to timeliness, accuracy, substantiation of all accounts and responsible for developing appropriate methods to enhance the reliability of such statements;

  • Demonstrating strategic direction for direct reports and helps to align goals, priorities and key activities of the team to the strategic direction of the Firm and anticipating future needs of the organization/customers and acts to meet those needs;

  • Recognizing ineffective strategies and recommend alternative approaches or solutions to capitalize on change;

  • Identifying, anticipating, and resolving technical issues within the context of the department's business;

  • Teaming with other strategic enabler groups outside the department on projects to provide solutions to challenges due to process and/or system changes or leadership requests, providing financial counsel and support to internal customers and communicating with system programmers and database administrators to develop or improve systems or tools;

  • Completing with little or no guidance, ad hoc assignments/projects as assigned by management;

  • Demonstrating preferred experience around the Firm’s technical accounting platform (e.g. - SAP R/3 and Business Warehouse);

  • Utilizing Firm-wide technical tools (e.g., Excell, Access, Essbase), data visualization/automation tools, and innovating through new and existing digital solutions;

  • Coaching, training, building, and leading a team in a wide variety of areas including but not limited to teaming, interpersonal skills, relationship building, and business knowledge;

  • Interacting with senior leadership on finance matters and is recognized as a strategic thinker; and,

  • Substituting for the Finance Director when necessary.
