Verizon's Yahoo Small Business (YSB) team is seeking to hire a Manager, Product Management for growth products. Verizon has announced plans to transition Yahoo Small Business into the Verizon core company (from Oath). This position will be part of that planned transition.

Our core offering includes actionable live web insights, application/developer platforms, real-time traffic tracking and analytics, recommendations, provisioning management, subscription/billing management, merchant solutions, domain management, web hosting and local listings. The Manager of YSB Product Management is a seasoned product leader who can create and evangelize a transformative vision for Verizon’s YSB portfolio; build and develop a world-class product team; collaborate internally and with an ecosystem of partners to deliver a compelling and innovative new product portfolio. The new portfolio will have a best-in-class digital-first experience aimed at transforming Verizon's SMB portfolio and expanding into new digital market opportunities to deliver $500M-$1B net incremental growth by 2022. Success will require this manager to act as a change agent, championing process, skills and cultural change to drive Verizon’s digital transformation as well as new commercial models and operational capabilities.
Taking accountability for the performance of YSB’s products and all aspects of product lifecycle management.
Ensuring the YSB portfolio is highly-competitive, meets growth and margin targets, and provides a high quality customer experience.
Developing and maintaining a product strategy that leverages YSB and Verizon’s assets to align with market demand and Verizon’s SMB vision.
Guiding direction of individual products in alignment with the overall strategic vision for the portfolio.
Owning all product development efforts to realize YSB-related product concepts and collaborating to successfully bring them to market including: forecasts and planning, P&L management, collaboration with marketing on GTM and channel strategy, compensation inputs, training strategy, customer research, commercial model, pricing approach and models, business cases, prototypes/exploratory development, user stories, usability trials, UX design, and roadmap prioritization.
Creating a high quality customer experience across all touchpoints and interactions.
Developing a compelling customer experience, managing release processes, testing scheduled deployments, and identifying, triaging, and resolving defects that negatively impact customers.
Working proactively and cross-functionally to identify, define, and execute on opportunities to continuously improve products, processes, and experiences – with the objective to optimize the overall quality and experience for customers, and ultimately ensuring sales and revenue targets are met.
Bridging the technical and business worlds as they design disruptive ways to reach our market segments, establish new beachheads, and help position the brand to deliver compelling value to convert and retain customers.
Acting as a core member of the YSB & SMB Product leadership team, working to shape YSB’s global strategy to inflect its trajectory and to make YSB & Verizon a visible and significant player in the small business ecosystem.
Building a strong team of product owners and designers.
Coaching, training, motivating, and retaining the best talent in a performance-driven organization with a key focus on professional development.
What we’re looking for...
You have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, while utilizing your technical understanding of systems that support business customers, and your understanding of the competitive landscape, and digital technology trends.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 15+ years of relevant and practical experience; or MBA/MS with 10+ years of relevant and practical experience.
High engagement skills and the ability to build collaboration, and drive strategic direction by raising visibility of trends, issues, and opportunities across the organization.
Attention to detail to connect the dots and to ensure key business deliverables are met.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to provide recommendations and develop strategies to the vast leadership teams.
Demonstrated ability to recruit and lead high performing product management teams responsible for delivering against measurable objectives.
Demonstrated ability to lead and drive technology processes from concept development to completion of project deliverables.
Familiarity working in an Agile development environment.
