Naval Space Operations SME

Key Role:

Provide assessment reports and Flag and SES-level briefings of Space engineering products, including DoD system and operational views. Propose assessment metrics to assess Space development performance. Collaborate with client resource sponsors, system program managers, and fleet type commanders to assess the program and system mapping for Space requirement capabilities. Collaborate with the Navy to coordinate space, enabling experimentation. Collaborate with a digital warfare office developing Space future capability proposals and support for capability pilot projects. Provide monthly progress reports for Space efforts, events, and developments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience with space operations and space situational awareness

  • Knowledge of satellite communications

  • Knowledge of offensive and defensive space control

  • Knowledge of precision navigation and timing and space operational environment

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Navy or Marine Corps Space Control applications

  • Experience with Navy overflight warning missions

  • Experience with Navy operations in a Contested or Degraded Operational environment

  • Experience with Navy or Marine Corps SATCOM mission support and user equipment

  • Experience with Navy or Marine Corps ISR mission support and user equipment

  • Experience with Navy or Marine Corps Global Positioning System missions and user equipment

  • Knowledge of the Navy and Marine Corps unique applications of US Space missions

  • BA or BS degree in Engineering, Astronomy, Aerospace, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or MIS
