Verizon Wireless Program Manager - Teaming in Southlake, Texas
What you’ll be doing...
You’ll be the wireless network lead for a series of massive public venue “teaming” projects. Bring your leadership and leading-by-influence “A” game. You’ll interface with Verizon Wireless (VZW) leadership from manager to VP. You’ll be the primary point of contact for the other carriers. You’ll be the key contact between VZW and leadership of large universities, transportation agencies and/ or stadia. And you’ll build several across the country, all at once.
You’ll travel considerably, running meetings in 3 times zones is a normal week, even when others’ travel is limited, you’ll be on site. To those meetings and site visits, you’ll bring energy and enthusiasm. You’ll represent Verizon Wireless first and foremost – and you will personify our leadership, while playing fair with other carriers and their investment. Managing expectations is critical: you’ll need to signal to your peers (at other carriers) and our vendors that making and keeping commitments matters.
Working with other carriers in teaming agreements requires discipline. We’ll train you in antitrust laws. You’ll need to bring the arts of persuasion as you convince constrained strapped carriers to move forward projects.
Big projects command big dollars. You’ll be custodian of escrow funds that make these initiatives go. Attention-to-detail is paramount. You’ll balance resource allocation, budgets, timelines, and potential risk factors that may impact project success.
You’ll develop end-to-end project plans to guide the implementation of network infrastructure. Your role will be pivotal to coordinate activities within the network function and across other teams to make completing complex projects look easy. You’ll build these sites, learn to love them, and, over time let them go, as these projects become part of the local network’s operations.
