Job Description

In this role as Regulatory Affairs and Professional Practice Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the company's strategic regulatory efforts in our Medicaid, Health Exchanges, and Commercial lines of business. This role helps ensure that business operations are aware of and understand legislative and regulatory requirement. This role will examine enacted and proposed new laws and regulations to ensure future compliance and raise awareness of potential impacts.

In this role you will help with strategic regulatory initiatives that have a profound impact on the future direction of the Regulatory Affairs organization and the company overall. The position will collaborate with key functional business areas on review and interpretation of regulatory requirements and identification of impacts and risks associated with any regulatory requirements.

You will identify the need for, and participate in, internal regulatory initiatives workgroups to advise and assist business areas on action required to ensure their compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. The position has a direct effect on our PBM's ability to maintain compliance with guidance and has a direct correlation with the PBM's ability to administer benefits and perform any delegated services for our PBM clients. Additional activities / initiatives will be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 4 plus years of PBM or Health Plan experience preferred

• 2+ years of experience with regulatory affairs, compliance or similar experience

• Experience responding to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (external customers, internal customers, executives and regulators)

• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Requires the ability to think strategically about proposed and enacted regulations and understand how they can impact CVS Health and our health plan clients.

• Ability to lead and influence others and to effect change across organizational boundaries, particularly with large employers, health plans (PBM clients), regulatory bodies, and trade associations

• Ability to communicate effectively with senior internal and external leadership

• Ability to exercise professional judgment in analyzing and resolving issues with little guidance

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (be comfortable articulating complex issues to all levels of management).

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of federal and state regulatory bodies and processes.


Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience may be considered.
