What you’ll be doing...
Verizon Wireless Headquarters Business Intelligence (VZW HQ BI) Team is looking for highly skilled and experienced data management experts. VZW HQ BI team is responsible for Data Enablement and Automation with a primary Focus on Market Field Support as well as supporting HQ Wireless Leadership. You will support our organization by defining and delivering data solutions for use by the Business Intelligence team, Finance Channel Analysis, Marketing Sales Operations, and Field Support. Key responsibilities include: providing recommendations and solutions for improving data accessibility, developing data management strategies, maintaining and enhancing the existing data infrastructure, maintaining and building of Microsoft Analysis Services Cubes, and performing extraction and manipulation of data.
Developing and delivering database and other data-driven solutions to support business needs and driving self-service analytics.
Building the infrastructure and maintaining scalable architectures from complex data sets across multiple platforms to enable business agility.
Developing and maintaining Internal Websites for the BI Team.
Developing and implementing Reporting Automation.
Providing recommendations and solutions for improving data accessibility across multiple data platforms.
Managing the SQL Server installation (SSMS/SSAS/SSIS/SSRS) used by VZW HQ BI.
Working with cross-functional teams to define and deliver solutions for the use, extraction, manipulation, and transformation of data to make it analytically ready.
Identifying and implementing innovative technologies, methods of machine learning, and statistical models within current systems.
Continuously developing and enhancing understanding of existing data infrastructure and source systems as well as new technologies, tools and methods in data architecture and BI infrastructure.
Providing solution and subject matter expertise to enhance the performance of enterprise level systems.
Overseeing data governance, data integrity, data security for Compliance team.
Creating and maintaining documentation of database processes and business rules.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Teradata or SQL Server database experience.
Experience in ETL tools.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Suite.
Experience in data warehousing & data management.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Management Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science or related field. Ideally, an advanced degree.
Four or more years of Teradata or SQL Server database experience with expert skills in writing advanced SQL, creating packages, leveraging functions, building stored procedures and optimizing SQL queries
Four or more years of experience in data warehousing & data management.
Two or more years of experience in business intelligence tools.
Experience with Reporting Services, Cognos, or Tableau.
Experience with .NET (C#) creating Web Forms, MVC, and executables to automate tasks.
Experience developing responsive web sites using CSS3/HTML5.
Familiarity and experience with common data analysis and data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, R, SAS, SPSS, Python).
Demonstrable familiarity with programming concepts
Extensive experience with T-SQL and creation of stored procedures.
Experience with RESTful Web Services, XML and JSON
Experience working with high volume, high velocity and high variety data.
Microsoft SQL Server Certification MCSA or MCSE.
Development Knowledge of Microsoft Analysis Server Cubes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate findings to audiences including IT peers, Business Partners and executives.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and with a team while executing independent decision making abilities in a fast pace environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and the ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
