What you ll do

The Heat Editor will be an integral part of Heat s content studio. This person will be instrumental in creating and refining our brand of storytelling. You will be passionate about making relevant and engaging video. You ll be involved in organizing and multi tasking on a variety of detail driven projects. You must be a self-starter, as well as remain calm during stressful situations while managing urgent deadlines.

In your role, you will:

Use your editing and production skills to bring creative and surprising ideas to life

Provide invaluable input on briefs, scripts, and throughout the post-production process

Organize footage and assets for use in videos and access to the agency

Develop job specs

Design graphics and create edit effects

Archive and catalog

Maintain edit equipment, trouble shoot technical problems, and actively facilitate repairs

Stay current on video, editorial and production tools and workflow

3 years professional editing/shooting experience

A reel with high quality work

Masterful knowledge of editing and visual storytelling

Experience shooting for video, audio recording and video lighting

Advanced working knowledge of Premiere Pro and related systems

Must be proficient with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro/Avid Adrenaline, After Effects, Protools, and DVD Studio Pro

Up to 30% travel


Bachelor s degree preferred

Excellent technical skills and understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

Experience with a variety of cameras, from Arri to iPhone

Innate understanding of codecs, exporting, transcoding and professional delivery platforms

Familiarity and experience with ProTools or other audio mixing software

Ability to graciously take direction and efficiently implement feedback

Excellent visual storytelling skills

Great organizational skills

Artistic vision and sense of humor

Proven experience with running a room and editing in real time

Experience with new business and both digital and broadcast production

Good problem-solving abilities
