Verizon Field Programme Support Consultant in Reading, United Kingdom

What you’ll be doing...

The Field Programme Support Consultant will be responsible for providing support for key customer bids through managing field capacity, vendor selection and governance in relation to Global Network Operations resource for major programmes at an International level. Working with the pre and post sales teams, you will be expected to manage relationships with key vendors to improve quality and reduce cost. You will work with GNO, Verizon Delivery, Project Management, Sales and Solution Architecture teams to agree the best support solution from a price and quality perspective. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leverage field teams and third party vendors to support customer deals to drive cost reductions whilst maintaining quality.

  • Build and maintain a Global field capability matrix.

  • Understand and interpret the scope of major deals.

  • Develop and enhance globally consistent process models.

  • Provide Sales and Deal Lifecycle Management support.

  • Work with Product team on opportunities for field support.

  • Identify funding requirements for specific bids, and provide governance on spend, performance against agreed statements of work and quality of work.

  • Support project implementation, governance and reporting.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.

  • Experience workingin Telecommunications or networks sectors

  • Experience negotiating or communicating with 3rdparty suppliers.

  • Experienced supportingor planning project resources.

  • Experienced in PowerPoint and Excel

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in IT, Network Engineering or related discipline.

  • High level of analytical and organizational ability.

  • Excellent communication skills to executive level.

  • Ability to work effectively as both an individual contributor and as part of a cross functional team.

  • Project management experience or qualifications such as Prince 2 or PMP.

  • A technical knowledge of Telecommunications and Networks.

  • Knowledge of major platforms IP, Data, Transmission, Voice Switching, WAN/LAN technology and networking equipment.

  • Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.

  • Strong customer focus and solution orientation.
