Line of Business Description:

This position is responsible for forecasting near term delinquency and losses on the Home Loans portfolio through various forms of analysis. These analyses are aimed at determining portfolio risk and operational performance in order to accurately forecast future delinquency and loss performance for the Home Loans portfolio.

Key functions involve extracting data from key analytical databases, forecasting delinquency and losses using asset quality monitoring, identifying business trends, and understanding economic/portfolio conditions. Frequent communication and interactions with all levels of management are required in order to relay key information related to delinquency and loss projections, performance trends, and variance attribution. The ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral form is a critical skill for this position.

While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to act independently, as well as interact with business partners (both within and external to the department). This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently develop and drive forecasting improvements.

Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling for multiple products with the goal of maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing risk and operating losses and/or other financial and marketing exposures. Develops complex program models to extract data and uses multiple databases to acquire statistical and financial data. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose policy/procedural changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Build relationships with external agencies. Participates in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. SAS and/or Micro Strategy experience preferred; 2-5 years' experience preferred.

May be filled as an Analyst II or III depending on experience and skill set.

Required Skills:

  • Programming and analytics with SAS/SQL

  • Skilled with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills as demonstrated by concrete and documented projects and analytical work

  • Strong evidence of leveraging analytics to drive business results

  • Ability to work independently as well as with multiple business partners

  • Proficient at written and oral communication, including presentation skills

  • Ability to interact with various levels of management

Desired Skills:

  • Strategic Analyst experience, including skills like forecasting, trend analysis data mining, or statistics
