Job Description:

Position Summary

Lead Java developer (Backend/Middleware) needed to lead large enterprise-wide initiatives. Person should be capable of working closely with project team members and line of business to define requirements, and drive through project deliverables.

Required Skills

  • 5-7 years of application programming experience using J2EE 6.X+ Must be able to lead the team of developers onshore/offshore and also be hands-on developer

  • 3+ years of experience with following tools - IBM RAD, IBM WAS, Source Control, Toad or SQL Developer; IBM MQ; SOAPUI

  • 3+ years of experience building SOAP and RESTful web services.

  • 5-7 years of experience with Unix/Linux operations

  • Experience developing application with Spring Framework

  • Must be able to design/program/test multi-tier application using middleware software

  • Must have excellent Object Oriented software design and documentation skills

  • Ability to install and debug applications

Desired Skills

  • Must be detail and deadline oriented

  • Must have experience working with distributed teams across several time zones

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently and adapt to a constantly changing environment

  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Experience with the development models and software development lifecycle (SDLC) model

  • Able to communicate effectively across varied areas including technology, business units and senior leadership

Enterprise Role Description

Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.
