Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian/ Resident Services Manager at The Channing House; a premier Life Care/Continuing Care Community located in Palo Alto, CA.

This position is approximately 25% clinical and 75% operations management.

This is a great opportunity for a new Dietitian seeking management & leadership experience!

Reporting to the Food Service General Manager, this position will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian or RD eligible.

  • Provide nutritional care to Long Term Care residents, consults for the Assisted Living residents and general wellness education to the Independent Living residents.

  • With assistance from of supporting managers, direct daily operations of resident meal services and oversee the dining room during meal periods.

  • Have experience with electronic charting and the Nutrition Care Process.

  • Hire, train and supervise 9 food service employees

  • Meet DOH/state/federal and company standards.

  • Represent the Food & Nutrition Department as the primary liaison with the medical and nursing staff.

  • Be responsible for QUAPI and participate on several committees to improve resident satisfaction

  • Possess strong communication and customer service skills.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services

Key Duties

-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.

-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.

-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.

-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.

-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
