Description: Assists Engineering and/or research personnel in the planning of methods, operations, and sequences and performs the physical development of state-of-the-art composite parts and their related components, where it is required to have complete knowledge of plastics/composite shop practices, theory and procedures, including a thorough knowledge of the physical properties of all types of plastics/composites and their forming and processing characteristics where only preliminary design data in sketch, computer generated, written or oral form is provided, and it is required to exercise ingenuity in converting original engineering and research design concepts into various experimental/prototype and first unit development composite products; develops tooling concepts and recommends changes to engineering, planning and tooling; performs tool-proving checks on new tooling and processing concepts where an in-depth knowledge of material is required.
Performs rework of the level of difficulty of the operations described above.
Must possess a minimum of four years composite experience. Must possess certifications required by the Company. Must demonstrate skills equivalent to Blueprint Reading II and Practical Shop Math. Must be knowledgeable in the use of process specifications and manufacturing processes.
