Function: Product Engineering

Title: Engineer - 41744

Your Responsibilities

As an Engineer for Ottumwa Works, located in Ottumwa, IA, you will support Large Square Baler product development to resolve design, quality, assembly and specification issues. In addition, you will:

  • Operate in a team environment, providing collaborative input to design solutions

  • Responsible for executing and leading design changes from concept to production

  • Perform necessary design calculations and lead design reviews

  • Provide design support to resolution of non-conforming parts; both supplier and manufactured

  • Manage engineering BOM, deviations, and sourcing change requests

  • Support QIT with design and mistake proofing solutions to low hour warranty and FPY items

What Skills You Need

  • Design, manufacturing, and/or mechanical engineering experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems

  • 1 or more years of experience using Pro/E, Creo, or other CAD software

  • Strong initiative and ability to drive projects to completion

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills

  • Overall functional knowledge of the Large Square Baler

  • Previous technical experience relating to design or diagnostics of mechanical and hydraulic design for agricultural machines

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • GD&T experience

  • Understanding of customer segment for Hay and Forage equipment

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Ag or Mechanical Engineering
