The candidate will lead in-unit optical operators. The candidate will support various Optical Components Center (OCC) functions including quality, logistics, training, documentation, planning, business operations, and OCC program support. This position serves a liaison between all OCC functions. Responsible for ensuring a sound communication interface between the functions. Incumbents are generally experienced in customer support and have a sound knowledge of overall business related functions. Responsible for leading team, organizing work load, setting day to day plan to achieve center commitments and goals. Support development and delivery of training programs.
Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, or other manufacturing related field plus three years of related professional work experience OR Master's degree in a business, engineering, or other manufacturing related field plus one year of related professional work experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment of at least 1 year
Prior team leadership experience
Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques
Strong Microsoft Office suite knowledge, skills, and experience
Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance
Prior leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership competencies consistent with the tenets of Full Spectrum Leadership
Experience with supporting development and delivery of training programs
Experience tracking and managing cost, quality, and schedule, in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a union environment
Manufacturing experience in Aerospace and Defense industry
Demonstrated ability to apply lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement
