Wealth Management (WM) – Global Controls Management primary function is to ensure the LOB has a sustainable and disciplined end to end control environment, identify and escalate issues with a sense of urgency, and partner with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner.

WM Global Controls Management works in partnership with the Business, as the first line of defense. The team assists in immediate, real time critical control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation. In addition, the team works in collaboration with all other control functions – Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Legal.

J.P. Morgan Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) is seeking talented candidates for a position as a Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Quality Control & Testing – Analyst, based in Manhattan, NY, Brooklyn, NY, or Newark, DE. This position will be responsible for RCSA related Quality Control and Centralized Control Testing. The role of this US Controls Management Associate will primarily focus on controls and will further cover additional business initiatives and critical focused areas.

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the business, supervisory management, compliance and other control functions to define the scope of control testing. The individual will also be involved with monitoring and surveillance business activities

  • Execute Quality Control testing program and perform control testing

  • Ensure Quality Control reviews of RCSA related data and adherence to standards

  • Establish reporting to track Quality Control testing progress and present testing results to team

  • Identify areas of non-compliance with procedures or standards

  • Assist in improving overall compliance to standards and drive improvement of testing results

  • Working with US BCOs to manage Internal Audit, Compliance and external regulatory exams and support the BCC and management reporting

  • Understand policies and procedures to determine proper application and compliance

  • Ensure procedures and policies are documented to accurately reflect current environment and ensure they contain components needed to cover RCSA and expectations of internal auditors

  • Maintain excellent working knowledge of audit, risk, and operational risk management concepts, as well as the ability to understand and interpret the impact of decisions and identify potential problem areas

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a financial institution including business quality assurance, audit, compliance and risk and control framework

  • Experience with Risk Control & Self-Assessment processes preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential due to the data gathering and reporting elements

  • Exceptional critical thinking, project management, analytical and communication skills (i.e. communicate effectively at all levels of the organization)

  • Possess sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations

  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, quickly assess situations, and capitalize on change

  • Ability to directly address/identify conflict and obstacles and escalate as appropriate

  • Results oriented, self-starter, able to identify areas to add value, execute efficiently, and influence change in collaborating with diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines and prioritize work in high pressure situations across multiple concurrent work streams
