We are undertaking an aggressive digital transformation agenda by building on the success of our current mobile and online service offerings to expand further into the API products space. Our API strategy is key to delivering our mission. The goal is to position JPMorgan Chase as the undisputed leader in API products catered to the developer community across the entire span of digital financial services and payments. Through the power of APIs, we aim to enable highly personalized financial services delivery and real time experiences across both Chase and 3 rd party digital properties.

The Digital Product team is seeking a qualified API Product Manager responsible for productizing multiple API service offerings. In this role, the qualified candidate will work with internal teams producing APIs, as well as review the corpus of APIs already produced, to identify high-potential APIs for productization. The API Product Manager will identify gaps within existing API work and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance and modify the APIs, including their supporting documentation, to position them as marketable external services. The qualified candidate will also support the launch of these API products into the Chase Developer Portal. This portal is the center of the JPMorgan Chase Developer Ecosystem.


  • Work with API producingteams to evaluate API designs and their associated supporting materials and marketability

  • Identify high-value APIsfor externalization from the corpus of existing work and new API workin-progress

  • Intelligently package relatedand complimentary APIs into API product suites

  • Write non-technical APIdocumentation articulating business value and benefits

  • Articulate the businessvalue of these APIs by devising use cases to describe how partners can use theAPIs to achieve their business goals

  • Work with a technicalcontent writer to ensure the APIs’ technical content quality enables intuitive andimpediment free integration by software developers

  • Participate in an API evaluationprocess with multiple internal stakeholders to uplift the quality of Chase’sAPI products and the developer experience surrounding them

  • Provide productmanagement functions over demonstrative apps which will showcase thecapabilities of our APIs to both internal and external audiences

  • Uncover opportunities toenhance cross-compatibility between APIs to deliver broader customer journeypossibilities to our 3 rd party partners.

  • Help describe the businessvalue of APIs to relationship managers and others who interface with externalpartners, thus helping drive new users to the APIs

  • Report on API relatedmetrics

  • Collect and analyze userfeedback and metrics data to uncover improvement opportunities and then workcross-functionally with internal stakeholders to improve the existing APIs

  • Understand the needs ofdevelopers and help the organization deliver a best-in-class experience to thisaudience

The role will also perform project management and coordination activities, build and/or review customer-facing communications, and drive the overall delivery of APIs. This position will provide a unique opportunity to work with the developer and third party community as well as across functions internally (i.e. payments, account opening, servicing) to build and deliver products for millions of Chase consumers, small businesses and strategic partners.


  • 5 to 7 years of experience in product management, technology and / or Agile software development

  • Experience working with APIs (i.e. either consuming APIs or producing APIs

  • Proven success in collaborating and driving decisions with multiple stakeholders, including team members across product, technology and design as well as business development

  • Experience with API products and tools is preferred

  • Strong understanding of product and software development and the ability to work in an Agile environment

  • Ability to work autonomously to successfully meet goals within expected timelines and with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication skills including the capacity to influence multiple stakeholders even without direct authority

  • Minimum BA/BS degree required; computer science and or software engineering background preferred
