PwC Tax Reporting & Strategy - DEALS - Senior Associate in New York, New York

A career in our Tax Reporting and Strategy practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making.

The Data Automation (DA) practice within Tax Reporting & Strategy (TRS) is comprised of tax and technology professionals who work with our clients to define and implement intelligent technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning and natural language processing. Our DA practice is focused on deploying technologies that can be implemented in short sprints, to address acute problems, with manageable costs.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above

  • Train and lead staff

  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates a thorough level of abilities with, and/or a proven record of success as both an individual contributor and team member, identifying and addressing client needs by:

  • Tax issues facing multinational U.S. companies or publicly traded companies, especially in the areas of Subchapter C, ASC 740 and ASC 740-10

  • M&A practices, including corporate M&A, private equity, post deal integration, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency

  • Tax organizational design, process improvement, controls, risk management, tax strategy and implementation of software products

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader including:

  • The application and interpretation of U.S. federal income tax law as it relates to Subchapter C corporations, Subchapter S corporations, partnerships, consolidated groups, corporate bankruptcies and insolvencies and legal entity reorganizations.

  • ASC 740 and ASC 740-10 provision preparation and review and corporate tax compliance preparation, review and planning.

  • Tax technology implementations, including selection of software packages, assessments of processes and data flows, tax systems implementation and configuration and digital tax transformation.

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of tax-related data analytics.

  • Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and success with implementing ERP Systems (such as SAP and Oracle) and tax-related applications such as OneSource,Corptax, Hyperion Tax Provision, Longview Tax, etc.

  • Demonstrates proven extensive ability to identify and address client needs: developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities; preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection.

  • Demonstrates proven extensive ability and/or direct experience as a team leader: leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and motivate members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff and encourage improvement and innovation.

  • Demonstrates proven thorough ability to utilize effectively written and verbal business communication skills within a professional business services environment, including interacting with clients and firm staff and/or management.
