JPMorgan Chase Software Engineer - Big Data Development in New York, New York

The Data Management & Analytics (DM&A) organization is responsible for building the strategic, analytic data warehouse for Chase Financial Services and managing the Integrated Consumer Data Warehouse (ICDW), Consumer Data Hub (Info1), Big Data Platforms (Hadoop), and Unified Data Services. DM&A also provides direction for large data warehouses across the firm.

You will work as senior member of the team responsible for architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications and ETL for Big Data technology stack for variety of data driven projects ranging from analytics, warehouse to operational.

Prepare and present the regular management updates

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages J2EE, Scala or Python

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  • 12+ years’ experience in development of scalable enterprise applications using J2EE, Scala or Python, and Micro Services. With advanced knowledge with Hadoop, Enterprise Java development, Spark, NoSql data platforms (Cassandra, HBase), Messaging (Kafka), Stream processing (NiFi, Storm, Spark Streaming etc), and Spring Framework/Springboot.

  • Experience of mentoring Agile teams, implementing professional software engineering practices, implementing automated CI/CD environment leveraging DevOps best practices

  • Experience in building end-to-end solution to migrate EDW on relational databases to modern data architecture leveraging Big data technologies

  • Previous experience as Application manager/data manager responsible for managing team as technical lead for development, delivery and support of ETL and data centric projects. With proven leadership skills to attract, mentor and retain top IT talent and creating an environment that fosters excellence, collaboration and teamwork
