Verizon Senior Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager in New York, New York

What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager of BI & Analytics within the Consumer Product Solutions Insights & Innovation team is a key member of the team who will partner with product leaders to translate product vision into quantifiable success through rigorous analysis and data exploration.

You will be responsible for delivering the end to end analytics capabilities from platforms and tools, data lake solutions, visualizations to advanced analytics that support all Verizon Consumer Products.

You will lead a team to:

  • Provide the information that will guide strategy and decision making throughout the product management lifecycle and drive a data driven product management culture

  • Transform data into actionable insights that lead to the improved product performance around revenue preservation and growth.

  • Interact with all consumer product managers, directors and VPs in wireless and wireline.

There are 5 main aspects of this role:

Drive engagement and deliver insights:

  • Partner with product leaders to use data-driven techniques to shape the strategy and direction of new products and services.

  • Align and develop analytics roadmaps and portfolios.

  • Make and present data/findings in a relevant, consumable, meaningful way and tell the stories (including reports and dashboards).

  • Analyzes complex business problems using data from internal and external data sources to provide strategic and actionable business insights to decision makers.

Make data a true assets:

  • Identify relevant data sources from various internal and external sources; design, architect and develop the most efficient data flow and structure to meet the product analytics needs.

  • Define and develop key product metrics that drive product and business success.

  • Lead the team to conduct data discovery, review, analyze and confirm proper data to be used.

  • Validate solutions by devising well-constructed data experiments and bring best practices around the data accuracy and continuous enhancement of BI team operational efficiency.

Drive to assisted and predictive decision- making:

  • Lead Data Scientists to shape the development of prioritized solutions.

  • Architect and create post-event and predictive analysis for CPS products from relevant rich data sources.

  • Delivery of diagnostics and insights to focus attention when and where it matters with a focus on big bets, strategic initiatives and leadership team reporting.

Deliver intelligent systems at scale:

  • Select and build out the right applications to enable business users to move faster.

  • Provide automated solution designs wherever is possible and appropriate.

  • Continue analytics innovations.

Develop and mold the team:

  • Manage a team with different expertise in analytics field.

  • Develop the BI&A function, talent and capabilities.

  • Champion the capabilities of the team and value of data driven decision makings to leaders.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Economics or other quantitative discipline.

  • MBA or Master Degree in quantitative discipline.

  • Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI).

  • Experience in managing a team.

  • Experience in working with senior management and cross functional teams.

  • Experience in a product management or technical consulting role, managing analytics projects.

  • Data analytics application development and behavior/predictive analysis experience.

  • Experience in Web/Mobile App Analytics.

  • Experience with complex data analytics, data products, and Big Data technologies. Passion for Big Data technologies and how they will change business models.

  • Hands-on experience working with data analysis.

  • Excellent SQL skills; comfort using various data access tools.

  • Experience with statistical tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS and/or other coding languages (Perl, C++, Java).

  • Experience with various BI platforms and tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Hadoop, Teradata.

  • Experience in product development or analytics in the Technology sector.

  • Advanced analytics and technical skills like statistical modelling.

  • Advanced experience in data science and web analytics area.

  • Understand and used tools such as Omniture, Amplitude, Google Analytics.
