Job Description

Ensures ordered goods and/or services are delivered/received in a timely manner. Coordinates and troubleshoots problems on purchases and orders.

  1. Communicates with vendors and patients by telephone or correspondence to ensure that services and/or equipment orders are delivered as ordered and in a timely manner. Resolves patient complaints relating to dissatisfaction of services rendered.

  2. Investigates and resolves issues, and coordinates changes in services, as needed.

  3. Processes, logs, and monitors the return of all written requests for change in the medical orders of patients.

  4. Assists the staff with regard to their services and/or equipment request.

  5. May respond to requests for ambulance transportation and arrange for patients to be transported immediately.

  6. Types letters, reports and memoranda expediting the delivery of service and/or equipment.

  7. Maintains files and documentation of all services rendered through the Home Care department.

  8. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in purchasing, required.

  • Good telephone communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Knowledge of home care services and third party reimbursement issues in a home health setting, preferred.
