Verizon Product Partnership Manager - 5G Technology Research and Development in New York, New York

What you’ll be doing...

Verizon 5G Technology Research and Development seeks to explore the future with the best and brightest minds by building new technology experiences through collaboration. We partner with students and professors at leading universities, as well as with early-stage entrepreneurs, to incubate and create launch velocity for the next generation of ideas.

As an Innovation Manager within Verizon’s 5G Ecosystems organization, you will be responsible for enabling and guiding these partner teams to innovate in exciting areas. You’ll move like a startup to find the intersection of nascent markets, business opportunity, and unmatched digital user experiences by organizing, planning, concepting and prototyping new technology projects. You will engage development teams and partners to manage and measure their projects in alignment with Verizon’s 5G product development priorities.

You’re a talented technical thinker with experience in building and managing products, design thinking, or collaborative strategy. You’re a motivated self-starter. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design & execute engagement programs aligned with Verizon’s 5G innovation agenda.

  • Deliver guidance for development teams, universities, and ecosystem partners to collaboratively identify opportunities for dots to be connected and eureka moments to be had.

  • Help shape a compelling use case for the most relevant New Product Innovations, and then lead the drive in communicating learnings from those innovations into the Verizon business.

  • Generate program interest and engage stakeholder champions by developing & delivering communications across the Verizon organization.

  • Collaborate with all other University touchpoints within Verizon to drive our message of innovation on campuses across the country.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in Product Management, Project Management, Design Thinking, Business Strategy, or related experience.

Ideally you’ll have:

  • A Master’s degree.

  • Demonstrated ability to redefine what it means to create by finding new ways to apply technology to today’s greatest challenges.

  • Experience designing and building outcome-driven products in multiple coding languages.

  • History of leadership, envisioning new ways to win, establishing a roadmap, and engaging relevant stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and collaborate with internal and external support groups.

  • Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.

  • Comfort operating and thriving in dynamic, ever-evolving situations.

  • Demonstrated capability to meet milestones, communicate your work, and respond to feedback with action and learning.
