We are looking for an entrepreneurially minded Internal Wholesaler to join our team. Thisis a key position in the Retail Life, TPD Sales Support unit which serves the high net worth retail markets at New York Life. The applicant will spend the majority of their time partnering with and supporting the External Wholesalers (AKA Field Directors) whose principal goals are to drive sales and develop new distribution for the TPD market. This role requires specialized in-depth life insurance expertise, preferably in the upscale wealth transfer brokerage space.
A highly successfully and well qualified Internal Wholesaler could develop a career path to a role with increased responsibility, management or field director role.
Partner with Regional Field Director by bringing entrepreneurial and innovative ideas to help grow the territory
Become a specialist in New York Life products, illustration system, procedures, process as well as our key competitor’s products
Function as direct point of contact for key BGA’s and producers to provide pre-sale case design illustrations, product information, sales concepts, and marketing campaigns
Establish credibility and build rapport by providing best in class service
Maintain a working knowledge of pending priority cases and be able to help close those cases as necessary
Handle escalated and sensitive matters including complaints and exception requests to ensure that they are resolved quickly and by the appropriate resource. Navigate stakeholder relationships and expectations
Provide technical guidance, information, and procedural advice to a variety of complex customer service issues that require knowledge of financial products and transactions
Foster existing relationships and establish new ones with consistent follow-up, proactive sales calls to strengthen relationships and find selling opportunities
Coordinate and lead with training and onboarding new BGA’s and producersby introducing them to NYL’s processes and requirements
Partner with the Licensing and Contracting team to ensure that contracting, state appointments and internal relationships are in place prior to the submission of applications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Professional designation such as CLU and/or ChFC certification preferred
Series 6 & 63 or be willing to acquire within 6 months of hire
Resident state life license or be willing to acquire within 6 months of hire
Expert knowledge of Life Insurance (WL, Term, UL, VUL); minimum of 10 years of experience
Experience conducting point of sale life insurance preferred
Must be able to manage a large territory
Work with drive and passion and encourage others to do the same
Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
Strong verbal communication skills to educate and influence sales
Must have strong relationship building skills
Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Detail-oriented, well organized and self-starter with high energy and creativity is essential
Minimal travel required
