Corporate Treasury & CIO (“CTC”) is a critical function within Corporate Financial Management responsible for managing the Firm's liquidity and capital positions, establishing funds transfer pricing policy, analyzing the Firm's lines of business (“LOBs”) and consolidated earnings at risk (interest rate risk), executing the Firm's securitization program and share repurchase program, managing the Firm's relationships with rating agencies and fixed income investors, and managing structural interest rate and foreign exchange ("FX") risks.
The CTC Liquidity Controller Americas group is responsible for oversight of CTC North America & Latin America’s liquidity results and related controls. This includes managing the regional liquidity reporting, its operational control environment, and liquidity forecasting and analysis. The group is also involved in projects, including those relating to enhancing the Liquidity Risk Infrastructure platform, conducting strategic analyses, and participating in various governance forums. Additionally, the group is the primary point of contact for Investor Relations and Corporate Reporting where liquidity messaging is involved.
The CTC Americas balance sheet has $725bn in assets and $300bn in liabilities. The individual will get a deep working knowledge of the components of Corporate Treasury & CIO’s balance sheet which includes Investment Securities, Reverse Repos, and Money Market products (e.g. deposits, long term debt, other borrowings). There is significant focus on the bank’s asset and liability transactions used for managing the funding and liquidity of the Firm’s entities throughout the globe. Additionally, the individual will work with various members of the CTC LOB, including business managers, traders, and the Liquidity Risk Project team, as well as other LOB partners.
Reporting, Forecasting & Controls
The CTC Americas Liquidity Controller group is required to submit periodic balance sheet-based reports (daily, monthly, and quarterly). The role will also support the consolidation of regional reports on a regular basis to provide a consolidated view to Senior Management. Additionally, the group participates in various governance and control initiatives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with ongoing corporate and liquidity balance sheet analysis and liquidity reporting, including the Fed 5G report, Liquidity Coverage Ratio report (“LCR”) and internal Liquidity Stress reporting
Determine business drivers behind changes in reported balances and communicate liquidity impact to partner groups such as Liquidity Management and Liquidity Risk Oversight
Develop and maintain tools/controls that will increase transparency into changes in reported balances and detect issues that require further review
Assist with ongoing liquidity result forecasting and planning
Assist with governance and control initiatives and workstreams
Other strategic projects as needed
General understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and an interest in learning how the bank funds itself
Bachelors' degree required
Liquidity knowledge preferred, but not required
Strong financial and analytical skills; advanced MS Excel skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
Ability to represent Treasury in various working groups as required
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Experience with technology project testing a plus
Working knowledge of VBA/macros a plus
Working knowledge of LRI, Tableau, ALM, CDGL/SAP, Business Objects a plus
