This position will report to Head of Oil Research but will also support the natural gas research effort in New York to help with updating models, crunch numbers, prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and other ad hoc research reports, and get the flagship publications out on time. This includes day-to-day processing of data from key agencies and market data on oil & gas markets. The candidate will also help prepare client presentations on oil & gas market. He/she will have the opportunity to interact with sales and trading team when the lead analysts are out of office traveling for work, and be prepared to work with more flexible hours around the times of publication. The position does not include travel in the initial years.

  • Candidates should have strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Good understanding of statistics and econometrics.

  • Strong analytical and English language skills

  • A team player and work with other research analysts in the team but also with the sales and trading team members when required.

  • Given the high frequency of research reports published in the team, a good attention to detail, command over English is a must.

  • Building and running models for price forecasting

  • Maintaining Supply and Demand (S&D) analysis

  • Interest in energy/commodities markets and some knowledge of future and options would be useful.

  • Presenting outlook on commodities to the wider team and collaborative participation in idea generation and discussion
