The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and global and local regulators. The department has in excess of 1000 staff, located in key locations across the globe. The Audit Department is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the firm's lines of businesses through a program of audit coverage that is performed and managed by a team of integrated technology and financial business audit specialists.

The Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Audit team provides audit coverage of anti-money laundering (AML) processes and controls within the AWM lines of businesses. The team also works closely with each Line of Business Audit team to ensure consistent coverage of these topics.

We are looking for an experienced Auditor with 8+ years audit experience to join the AML team. In this role you will be based in New York, NY, and be responsible for risk assessment, control identification, development of audit testing, completion of audit work and ongoing continuous monitoring activities that include maintaining professional and constructive relationships with senior business executives. The role requires working closely with business and technology audit colleagues across multiple lines of business to ensure comprehensive audit coverage. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support the maintenance of the program, as well as, strategic direction and goals of the firm is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the execution of AWM line of business and Corporate Sector AML Audits, Continuous Monitoring and any relevant Issue Validation within the context of the firm’s global independent testing mandate, including robust tracking of audit activities and issues.

  • Identify and implement best practices; drive change within Audit and JPMC to strengthen the control framework.

  • Partner with colleagues, regulators, clients and control community members to develop, evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of control environment.

  • Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement while adding value

  • Stay up to date with evolving regulatory, industry and market events impacting the firm's risk organization.

  • Partner with other groups within Audit (Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, Consumer Bank, Asset Management, Technology, etc.) to ensure the delivery of a seamless program of audit coverage across JPMorgan Chase

  • Establish and maintain a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics or related discipline (or relevant experience in financial services)

  • 8+ years’ experience in a Financial Services firm or in public accounting, with an appropriate level of exposure to and involvement with AML/KYC.

  • CAMS, CPA, CIA or similar designation preferred (a professional certification is required within one year of hire)

  • Strong control orientation and analytical skills

  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management

  • Collaboration with fellow managers in both the Audit and Corporate Sector areas

  • Ability to build rapport with internal stakeholders and examiners

  • Experience establishing and meeting goals, tracking and driving optimization opportunities, and presenting progress of the same

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability

  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation

  • Intermediate to Advanced desktop skills in products to support the above (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
