Federal Reserve Bank Configuration Management Associate - Technology Group in New York City, New York

To support the day to day operations of Configuration Management (CM) and Application Portfolio Management (APM) processes and activities. These activities cover a range of responsibilities relative for administering the CM and APM processes within the organization, working closely with other process leads and to ensure that technology Asset specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes. This role will work closely with Event Management, Change, Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request.

The candidate will participate in the cyber security and lead our effort to identify and align Configuration and Application Portfolio Management records. This role will involve close collaboration with those responsible for the Bank's asset management governance and practice. The responsibilities include (1) providing requirements on inventory scope intended to drive specific outcomes and maturity gains in the Bank’s cyber program and (2) integrating pertinent information in those inventories into the Bank’s asset management operations, assessment, and planning.

We are seeking a candidate with strong communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders from various organizations. A commitment to customer service is essential as stakeholder requirements will need to be catalogued, tracked, and facilitated. The candidate should have the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical and/or senior management audience.

Daily activities will include (but not be limited to) data analysis and reporting, customer service, risk management, and support of the Bank's strategic cybersecurity initiatives.

The candidate performs Configuration and Application Portfolio Management activities relating to identification, control, and tracking of designated systems and/or equipment. Activities include auditing of CMDB and APM records against records from other network management and inventory administration tools, publication of the associated reports and discrepancy resolution. They help define, implement and integrate configuration management policies and procedures to support the configuration management database (CMDB) and application portfolio manager (APM). The associate interfaces with and coordinates with other technology process teams in the organization to include Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Capacity Management, and Release Management.

As part of the configuration management team the associate ensures achievement of Configuration Management related execution related SLRs and KPIs. The associate works with operations and engineering staff, assist the program in meeting the day-to-day compliance with Configuration Management and Application Portfolio Management process, procedures, and work instructions. They assist in development and maintenance of formal process documents (e.g. procedures, work instructions, and diagrams), and document processes and projects (creating project reports, presentations, business cases, and diagrams). They perform and execute configuration and application portfolio management processes and procedures, as and when necessary.


  • Responsibilities Include

  • Analyze the cyber and operational controls for asset-related information (e.g., their attributes, their relationships, and their references in other data repositories) and align CMDB and MEGA records.   • Record and maintain assets within the configuration management and application portfolio databases.

  • Assist the IT Asset and Data Manager with audits and report generation.

  • Maintain the configuration management and application portfolio databases for accuracy and consistency.

  • Ensures the CMDB and APM is updated upon successful change implementation.

  • Collect and retain asset data for risk and cost assessment

  • Support other team members with system related issues;

  • Manage projects and client deliverables;

  • Gather and document business processes;

  • Manage annual certification of technology assets within the applications;

  • Provide metrics and reporting on the technology assets ;

  • Oversee and initiate compliance reviews to ensure the integrity of the asset information;

    Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • Configuration Management experience or experience managing an ITIL Service Transition Process (Change Management, Change Evaluation,

  • Application Development, Release and Deployment Management, Service Validation and Testing, Asset Management, Knowledge Management

  • MEGA Application Portfolio Management (APM) Knowledge preferred

  • Experience with IT support applications preferred. Remedy preferred, Service Now is acceptable or any experience with network infrastructure management tools such as Brocade Network Advisor, CA Spectrum, Cisco Gold, Juniper Junos Space.

  • Working knowledge of the review and modification of business process mapping and data reconciliation procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact positively with end-users and vendors daily

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment and follow written policies and procedures

  • Ability and interest to learn new applications and technologies;

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on multiple projects;

  • Intermediate to Expert level in Excel, V-Look Up, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint
