CVS Health Specialty Pharmacy Operations - Director in Mount Prospect, Illinois

Job Description

The Director will be responsible for overall operations of the pharmacy which includes the management of the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the Specialty Pharmacy. Must have superb management and business process skills to direct the management team for client services and pharmacy business functions with respect to clinical, customer services and pharmacy operations.

• Accountable for service performance, customer satisfaction and financial performance and must have a proven track record of successful outcomes with responding to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory Agencies, and/or members.

• Collaborates with other functional areas to support sales, operational and financial objectives of the specialty pharmacy services group as it relates to day-to-day pharmacy operations and must have a track record of effective high-level communication to teams and customers - internal and external.

• Provides effective leadership and direction to all direct reports while managing and fostering a dynamic and progressive work environment characterized by high integrity, commitment to excellence and respect.

•Ensures compliance with Federal, State and local laws and accreditation standards. Reviews and monitors dispensing incidents

•Follows up and resolves all customer service issues and complaints within 24 hours.

•Ensures adequate staffing based on business volume and staffing model. Reviews payroll for each store weekly and monitor use of overtime and temp employees.

•Prepares capital expenditure requests as necessary and oversees relocation, remodels, new pharmacy openings and closings.

•Participates in mid to long range strategic planning for business

Human Resources

•Develops and mentors managers and others for succession planning

•Provides clear goals and ensures appropriate access to training, coaching, feedback and ensures effective formal and informal performance management

•Completes performance evaluations, determines performance-based rewards, compensation and incentive pay

•Ensures roll outs of clinical and other programs to the field get executed on effectively and promptly

Business Development

•Oversees operational implementation of new business contracts

•Partners with corporate and sales managers on strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Strong financial and business acumen.

  • Ability to assess processes efficiency and implement process improvement.

  • Ability to manage performance through motivation, coaching, formal and informal feedback.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and align team to achieve corporate initiatives.

  • Travel may be required.

  • Pharmacy License is required

Preferred Qualifications

15 years or greater total years of experience preferred with demonstrated successful leadership experience.

Previous management experience will include management of professionals and support staff across multiple sites.

Education

B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree is required.

Graduate degree (e.g., M.S., M.B.A.) in a related field is desirable.
