Lockheed Martin Project Specialist Senior Staff in Moorestown, New Jersey

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.

Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Strong general radar system inclusive of major sub-systems: Antenna, Reciever/Transmitter,signal processor. Desired radar system integration experience (prefer SPY 1B/D) as well as calibration and performance tests of same (as well as the sub-assemblies) particularly understanding of the phased array alignment.

Extensive test and measurement background in both RF and digital control of the SPY 1 B/D type electronics.

Extensive troubleshooting experience at system to component level as well as analysis of failures and cause at all levels.

Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead technical teams. Required interfacing with many disciplines of the various organizations and levels of management. Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position.

Desired skills Extensive understanding and preferred background in production test environment. Thorough understanding/appreciation of manufacturing demands/expectations. System integration support experience in the AEGIS production environment or antenna debug on fielded radars preferred and occasionally required.

Thorough understanding of the control electronics od the SPY 1 B/D array and functionality of the discrete circuits: BITE/VBM/PCR etc. RF sub-assemblies such as the stripline combiners, horizontal beamformers, phase shifters are all preferred.

Strong specific radar /technical understanding/knowledge of the RF/Microwave components, RF sub-assemblies and antenna of the SPY 1 B/D radar system. Performance testing experience preferred.
