Data Architect, Senior

Key Role:

Comprehend data and data management from an enterprise architecture view and translate business-oriented information requirements into technical data management solutions by developing and implementing enterprise data strategies for the management and sharing of data to enable more effective cross-enterprise and inter-enterprise systems interoperability. Ensure enterprise data assets are governed by a comprehensive data management approach. Act as a technical SME or advisor who comprehends both current and future states of the US Navy’s personnel and pay or manpower management business systems, including the data that resides within and flows between the various systems. Support the Navy’s Authoritative Data Environment (ADE) goals or objectives regarding transformation. Assist with formulating and defining system scopes and objectives based on knowledge of end user and system owner requirements, business functions, supporting systems, and system data and translate this information into proper system requirements. Possess knowledge of the Navy’s personnel and pay or manpower management business systems life cycle and consider the implications of the application of technology to the current and future business.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with US Navy manpower, pay, and personnel systems or commercial or private sector Human Resource Information Systems (HRISes)

-Experience with database design, data modeling, data integration, modern data implementations, Big Data tools, and data exchange standards

-Knowledge of US Navy management systems and Navy IT transformation goals and objectives

-Ability to perform as a member of and as a key technical advisor on a high-functioning or high-visibility team performing enterprise information management consulting

-Ability to perform detailed research and analyze strategy, governance, policy, CONOPS, use cases, and functional requirements documents (FRDs), as directed by the client

-Ability to perform current and future state business process analysis

-Ability to comprehend requirements being driven by US Navy Personnel and Pay Modernization IT Transformation initiatives and make timely and impactful recommendations to the client

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of current and emerging data management tools or software, including Informatica

-MA or MS degree preferred

-CDMP, PMP, and Comp TIA Security+ Certifications preferred

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
