We are looking for a Manager or Senior Manager within the Indirect Tax team in our Melbourne office. This role is offered on a flexible full-time basis. Join a vibrant group at EY Indirect Tax and realise your potential in this rapidly expanding area of digital Tax.
Your key responsibilities
Drawing on your current skills and experience in indirect tax, you will manage engagements providing technical advice and support to clients on complex indirect tax issues (including M&A and structuring, property transactions, apportionment methodologies, cross border issues, and regulatory review and audits) across a broad range of industries.
You will help our clients maximise the use of technology to manage their indirect tax obligations, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and manage their overall indirect tax position.
As a leader in the firm, you will manage engagement risk and financial management of clients.Also, you will be encouraged to nurture team development through mentoring and coaching.
You can expect plenty of autonomy in this role. You will be empowered to contribute to the team’s strategy and be actively involved in business development activities to drive market opportunities and build trusted client relationships.
Skills and attributes for success
Excellent technical skills in one or more indirect taxes including GST, Fuel Tax Credits, LCT, WET or stamp duty.
Significant experience, preferably within a Big 4, mid-tier accounting firm, or law firm.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage teams, delegate work, build trusted relationships with clients, and work with regulatory authorities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills and a high attention to detail.
Ability to remain focused and productive in a fast-paced environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience or interest in the application of technology to indirect tax matters.
Experience with Top 1000 and Top 100 Streamlined Assurance Reviews.
