Sodexo has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Dietitian, ideally with 1 year of experience, to work in Sodexo School Services providing support for a vibrant school lunch program. This position is located in Medford, OR in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon; an area centrally located to extensive recreational activities and cultural opportunities.

The Management team covers 21 schools, K-12, with 12,000 students in thedistrict and this position will provide direct and indirect support and consultation to three other Sodexo school accounts in the region.

Selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • menu development and maintenance

  • compliance with state and federal guidelines

  • menu nutrient analysis

  • development of nutrition education programs for the district in collaboration with the school faculty and administration

  • Maintaining relationships with community nutrition organizations, school administration, parents and teachers.

  • Special diet development as needed for allergies etc

Candidates need to be innovative, self-starters who communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and students. Candidates who are eligible for RD certification will be considered. Must complete certification within six months of hire.

In the position, the candidate will report to the account General Manager, and work with the district management team to achieve customer service, financial and program goals including interaction with USDA and local farm to school programs. This position will interact with school administration, parents, students, and other community health professionals and stakeholders regarding nutrition related issues. Additional responsibilities will include planning menus to meet the special diet needs of students, implementation of Sodexo programs, and general management duties including food and physical safety audits, employee training and development, and general financial functions. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in menu development with prior experience in school meal planning software and nutrient analysis and will have excellent skills in communications and program presentation. Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services

Key Duties

-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.

-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.

-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.

-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.

-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
