Lockheed Martin Cable Technician/LCS Onsite Test team/Marinette in Marinette, Wisconsin

Description: The candidate will be a member of the Marinette LCS Onsite Test Team as aCable Technician, and will perform the following tasks:

Cable/connector fabrication and testing, perform equipment modifications and upgrades, and perform equipment/system repairs, to include an emphasis on completing multi-pin and coaxial cable builds (RJ-45, DB-9, Mil-STD connector builds, etc.) and MPCMS Fiber terminations.

The candidate’s designated work location will be the Marinette Marine facility but he/she must also be able to travel on an as-required basis to provide support onboard ships or other land based facilities as necessary.

Although most work will be associated with USN combat and Mission Systems equipment, the opportunity to support other equipment/systems also exists.

Participate in the installation, test, repair, trouble shoot and support the Navigation System (NAV), to include the Integrated Bridge System (IBS)/Ship’s Control Console (SCC), Navigation Data Distribution System (NAVDDS), and other internal systems to Navigation.

The candidate will be responsible for providing installation support of equipment including performing equipment modifications and upgrades when requested; performing equipment/system repair; performing the assembly, integration and test of equipment/systems as required; and perform daily coordination and communication with the Onsite LM NAV Lead as needed.

Work on weekends and off shifts as required.

Overtime as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must have solid experience with multi-pin copper and coaxial cable termination, basic soldering, and testing efforts. Additionally, candidate must have some knowledge of the use of PLCs

Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills (both for written and oral communications) and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate must be able to perform multiple tasks, have good decision making ability, be teamwork orientated and work independently as-required.

An understanding of maintenance techniques and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered, a demonstrated ability to perform assigned preventive and demand maintenance tasks, and a demonstrated ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and plans.

Solid experience with multi-pin copper cable termination efforts, coaxial, fiber termination, and with the maintenance and operation of USN combat systems/equipment. Experience with 2M techniques and fiber-optic cable termination efforts is also required, to include splicing of fibers and their testing methods.

Desired Skills:

Experience with the maintenance and operation of USN combat systems/equipment is desired, specifically, experience working on the LCS class of ships is highly desired, but not required.

Experience with various test equipment (e.g., Spectrum Analyzer, O’Scope, Volt Ohm Meters, Power Meters, Anritsu Line Sweepers, RF Generator, etc.) is desired.

An understanding of ship automation and ship propulsion control/monitoring system equipment operation and integration is desired, with the following highlights:

Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics to the subcomponent level

Experience working as an electronics technician or an electrical field engineer

Experience with soldering, fabricating wiring harnesses and custom cables

Experience with US military electronics troubleshooting and repair training

Experience with Shipboard Navigational Systems to include, but not limited to; X-Band/S-Band Radars, Moriah, Flux Gate Compass, Depth Sounders, Navidata, WSN-7B(V), NAVDDS, ECDIS-N, GPS Antennas, Network Repeaters, etc.
