Lockheed Martin Fire Protection Engineer Senior in Marietta, Georgia

Description: Advises and assists private and public organizations and military services for the purposes of safeguarding life and property against fire, explosion, and related hazards.

Performs studies of industrial, mercantile, and public buildings, homes, and other property before and after construction, considering factors such as fire resistance of construction, use or contents of buildings, water supplies and water delivery, and egress facilities.

Designs or recommends materials or equipment, such as structural components protection, fire-detection equipment, alarm systems, fire extinguishing devices and systems.

Devises fire protection programs and organizes and trains personnel to carry out such programs.

Conducts research and tests on fire retardants and fire safety of materials and devices and to determine fire causes and fire prevention methods.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN - This position is located in a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (Facilities, Civil Engineering)

Minimum 5 years experience in science and engineering principles to protect people, property, and the environment from harmful and destructive effects of fire and smoke.

Experience with Public Works in fire suppression systems.

Desired Skills:

In-depth knowledge of concepts in fire protection engineering such as: combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, assess fire sprinkler systems, repair, testing, and inspection.

Microsoft Office Applications.
