Brown-Forman Boiler By-Products Supervisor in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Scope of Position:
Assists the Production Manager in coordinating the activities of the distillery boiler systems, by-products generation, process water treatment, waste water treatment, and charcoal production to ensure efficient operations within established budget requirements. Coordinates with distillery operations to optimize operational influent and effluent. Foster the relationships with the department support functions including Maintenance, Quality Control, Environmental Health and Safety, and Human Resources to confirm guidelines are followed and requirements and regulations are being met. Supervise the round-the-clock team activities of lead and utility operators
Provides administrative and technical supervision and guidance to department personnel including training, coaching and problem solving. Develops, implements, and evaluates job-specific skills. Monitors adherence to all company policies and procedures and takes corrective actions when necessary. Assists work teams in formulating and applying continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in coordinating activities of the boiler systems, by-products generation, process water treatment, waste water treatment, and charcoal production to maximize levels of production, quality, and budget adherence.
Plan and manage the operator team schedules to make sure the production staffing requirements are met.
Execution of plant policies and procedures for areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with all directed safety, quality, sanitation/housekeeping, and environmental requirements.
Work with maintenance to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules, efficient planning of maintenance work in conjunction with production schedules, and manage to budget items in the maintenance areas.
Assist in establishing operational budgets and ensure departments operate within their respective budget.
Analyze all production data for areas of responsibility and work with management to execute process control actions
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
Five or more years of in depth production operation experience Three or more years of boiler operation experience BS Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Computer skills including use of spreadsheets, word processing, databases, etc. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills Mechanical aptitude Demonstrated leadership skills Demonstrated knowledge and compliance to safety, environmental, and sanitation requirements.#SM#TSM
MS Degree in a related field.
Five or more years’ experience in water treatment, process monitoring, and distillery by-products operations
Grade II Wastewater Operator Certification
