The Strategic Alliance (SA) Specialist will be a redistribution expert providing support across all industry segments.
This role will touch every use case of external distribution of S&P s essential data. The SA specialist works with sales, legal and product managers to coordinate and implement the ideal relationship structure spanning across investment management, investment banking and corporations. The ideal candidate will have a diagnostic sales background and excellent time management ability. This position will require analysis and workflow prioritization across a large book of business. Closely tied to the Relationship Managers of S&P clients, the SA Specialist will expand partnerships with clients to enhance their own suite of products and services.
This hire will have in-depth knowledge of the information technology industry and competitive landscape as well as a deep understanding of S&P Global s businesses and products. He - she will firmly grasp and anticipate the clients needs in a way that informs S&P product capabilities to gain competitive advantage.
Experience selling data and content via enterprise feeds - API is highly valued in this position.
Identifies and resolves complex problems in business and product development using diagnostic insights, sales results, and client adoption to improve revenue generation and business growth. Solves problems using in-depth industry expertise.
Time Management - Organization:
Able to prioritize high volume of inquiry both internally and externally. Ability to balance protection of S&P intellectual property with advancement of creative partnership opportunity.
Interactions & Collaboration:
Works regularly with product business leads, legal staff and cross segment sales representatives to creatively structure partnerships for redistribution of S&P content. Has significant impact on the business's ability to implement products, platforms and programs that drive revenue results.
Minimum and Preferred Education:
BS degree in business, finance or a related field required. Advanced degree, professional certification (e.g. CFA, FRM, etc), MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum and Preferred Experience:
7 years of experience in sales or business development focused roles required, with 10 preferred. Required experience includes 5 years in information technology sales or a financial software vendor role. Preferred experience includes coordination with product and content teams.
Complex sales commercial experience, Diagnostic - consultative sales aptitude, Sales Management experience, specific understanding of go to market and marketing channel strategy concepts, experience and grasp for servicing global clients.
