Working with the global EY network, our AI Director will support Market Segment Leaders and their account teams, to identify strategic client issues, shape deals which demonstrate business value and work hands-on to lead engagements which leverage AI to solve business problems.
As a leader in the UK&I AI team, and working collaboratively with local and global colleagues, you would be in a position to shape and deliver EY AI offerings in the UK&I. You will build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers, and support the development of a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities. These will radically change outcomes for our clients, and change the nature of how we do business in EY.
You will be expected to assist in the full sales cycle. You will take a leadership role in the creation of new highly differentiated solutions for EY. You will also take a leadership role in the delivery of engagements, and ensure projects are executed with a high degree of quality and deliver the expected outcomes.
As a respected senior professional, you will communicate effectively with EY engagement directors and partners, and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, coaching and mentoring junior consultants to build their career path.
Your key responsibilities:
Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and maintain the vision and strategy for AI adoption at EY UK & I, and participate in the appropriate EMEIA and Global networks.
Work hands-on with our Product Management teams to identify opportunities utilising AI, and to develop plans for doing so
Work closely with development teams to identify use cases, select technical approach, define evaluation and test criteria, and refine methods and tools used to build technical solutions
Work with our big data platforms and performance engineering teams to consolidate technologies, develop data acquisition and management approaches and solutions, and ensure both necessary privacy and AI/ML service scalability
Help assess potential partners and acquisition targets for technological fit and value
Partner with leaders, teams, and tool developers to develop the organisational knowledge, skills, and tools to make AI an integral part every team’s toolset
Define a strategy and roadmap for ensuring continuous introduction of novel AI-related technologies, and help deliver on it by staying abreast of research and technology developments and then working with internal partners to integrate those new and state-of-the-art tools and services
Evangelize AI and ML at EY, helping our passionate and talented workforce see the possibilities that you do
Work with client’s AI teams to deeply understand their business and technical needs and design AI solutions that make the best use of the AI Services.
Thought Leadership – Evangelize AI Services and share best practices through forums such as blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events both internal and external
Partner with Generalist SAs, Sales, Business Development and the AI Service teams to accelerate customer adoption and revenue attainment.
Act as a technical liaison between customers and the service engineering teams and providing produce improvement feedback.
Develop and support an EY internal community of AI related subject matter experts.

AI solutions – Virtual Agents, Robotic Process Automation, intelligent case processing, Video Analytics, Unique Identity/ biometrics, inference engines, stream monitoring, intelligent search, ontologies/knowledge representations
To qualify for the role you must have
Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent experience with a demonstrated track record of research and hands-on development in AI or ML or related fields spanning 10+ years
Demonstrated ability to bring out the best in client projects and R&D teams
Strong leadership skills and effective collaboration abilities
Effective communication skills with close-quarter small teams and in working with large groups
Experience in common AI and ML tools like Keras, Numpy, Tensorflow, Caffe and Torch
Demonstrated experience supporting big data platforms including Cassandra, ElasticSearch and other NoSQL, BigQuery, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Athena etc.
Experience deploying trained models to constrained environments, for example through the use of AWS Greengrass, through the selection of appropriate models like MobileNet, or through model optimization methods
Experience leveraging cloud technologies to speed AI and ML development, including technologies like EC2 and the AWS ML suite of tools
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience in complex AI delivery
A progressive approach to AI implementation, experience of AI solution architecture
An understanding of the AI roadmap and industry trends
