Description: The Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Senior Scientist/Engineer for Cognitive Solutions is part of a technical team which reports to the Cognitive Solutions Senior Manager of Emerging Technologies. Emerging Technologies reports into the Vice President of the Future Enterprise Program under the Digital Transformation Office within Corporate Engineering, Technology and Operations organization.
The Cognitive Solutions team is responsible for technology integration, portfolio execution, and effective technology transfer of the digital technology projects, utilizing cognitive solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IIoT, which continuously drive efficiency and state of the art capabilities into company operations.
This engineer provides technical guidance in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to direct and indirect project teams across the enterprise. This includes responsibility for external research center engagement for the cognitive solutions portfolio.
Master’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or data science. PhD preferred.
7+ years experience developing AI solutions and ML models and deploying to production environments.
Significant experience in aviation and defense industry or equivalent hi-tech manufacturing company
Experience with robotics or manufacturing automation
Experience with modern Machine Learning & visualization tools such as R, Python, Scikit learn, Spark, Tensorflow, Tableau, etc.
Demonstrated career progression as a continual learner
Success coaching and mentoring less experienced employees
Demonstrated success in development and implementation of related technologies.
This job must be performed from a major Lockheed Martin Location
Familiarity with cloud computing, fog computing, CPU & GPU based analytics, & IoT.
Experience developing strategic technology roadmaps.
Demonstrated success energizing teams, openly collaborating, and enabling their best performance.
Capable of interacting with senior leaders and explaining technical solutions in business terms.
The selected candidate will be a member of a high-performing virtual team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate effective communication skills as the position will require frequent interactions with technical and executive leaders across the enterprise.
Ability to travel for broad business area facilitation and team interaction is required and should be expected at approximately 25% of the time.

Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
