Verizon Inventory Planning Manager in Lewis Center, Ohio

What you’ll be doing...

Making sure that our products are available to our customers---when they want them and where they want them---will be your job. You’ll work side by side with a partner in analytics and reporting to forecast demand based upon historical data. You’ll make sure that whether the consumer is ordering direct from us, shopping in one of our retail stores, or in another channel, the product you manage will be there. Using information about upcoming promotions and seasonal events, you’ll adjust the forecast and ensure that we anticipate and meet the need. The work you do every day will have a direct impact on our customer experience by making sure we get the right product at the right time into the customer’s hands.

  • Analyzing trends and forecasting demand of specific products by channel.

  • Ensuring that supply will meet the forecasted demand.

  • Adjusting the demand plan (and ensuring adequate supply) for promotional and market factors.

  • Using demand planning software, tracking results and outcomes.

  • Resolving out-of-stock issues and proactively reducing product shortages.

  • Working across teams to ensure alignment and process adoption.

  • Identifying process issues, identifying root issue and developing action plans to remedy the issue.

  • Generating reporting with the team, aggregating data results to aid with the reporting process.

  • Attending conference calls, disseminating notes and takeaway tasks.

This role can be located in a valid Verizon location within the north eastern US region. Final work location will be finalized during the hiring process.

You know that the best decisions are based in data but you also know that it takes a trained eye to find the insights. Planning and organizing is how you roll. Creating the perfect plan is only half the battle, you realize that all plans need to be monitored and adjusted as needed to come in on target. Obstacles are just puzzles you get to solve. You know logistics isn’t all about the numbers and that you need to rely on people to make things all come together.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with managing demand planning/forecasting.

  • Experience analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Business or Operations, Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Excel and web based data tools skills.

  • Experience in supply chain management.

  • Certification in APICS or CPM.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience.

  • Experience with generating reports from PeopleSoft, SAP, CATS, or related tools.

  • Ability to work with local and remote teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
