Verizon SQL Automation Consultant in Lake Mary, Florida
What you’ll be doing...
Develop SQL procedures to drive mechanical corrections and reporting based on issues where customers are under billed or overbilled.
Drive improvements through automated corrections (reduction of manual work) using programming, SQL procedures and connections to partner systems.
Solve problems using various toolsets to build composite processes (multiple technologies per solution).
Assist in web development and maintenance as well as database and server administration duties.
Maintain existing solutions and work autonomously to drive improvements.
Coordinate with internal Finance partners to perform process reviews and design solutions to solve issues or bottlenecks.
Partner with IT to develop system project requirements that will change design and reduce negative customer impacts.
Learn new systems and processes quickly and effectively.
Investigation of out-of-syncs to determine root cause driver(s) of billing problems and ensure resolution of same; drive resolution so that issues are seamless to customers (prevention).
Drive speedy resolutions so that issues are seamless to customers (prevention).
Interface with channel support and legal to communicate with customers on corrections as needed.
Provide direct support to field personnel with system questions, methods and procedures.
Ensure system feeds are updated/added for new products and services implemented.
Manage project inputs to requirement documents for IT projects and track to completion to ensure system remains up-to-date.
Work as a subject matter expert on the end-to-end system design and operations within.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology disciplines.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills; ability to investigate and determine root cause of issues.
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives and project management.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate issues across multiple teams in an environment of constant change.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization skills.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, Teradata, PegaRobotics/OpenSpan, Cognos, C# or Java.
Experience with Server/Web administration.
A combination of both SQL and Web programming knowledge.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and act quickly and pragmatically to prioritize and resolve customer-impacting issues.
Demonstrated a strong desire to learn.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
Advanced understanding of ordering/provision/billing systems and process flows.
